엄청나게 바쁜 직장 생활, 즉 교회 생활과 집에서 가족과 함께하는 삶 사이에서 어떻게 균형을 맞추시나요?
제가 삶의 균형을 맞추는 방법 중 하나는 안식일을 매우 중요하게 여기는 것입니다. 성경은 매우 분명하게 말씀합니다. 하나님은 6일 동안 일하고 일곱째 날에는 쉬라고 말씀하셨습니다. 한국에서는 항상 쉬지 않고 일할 것입니다. 하나님은 우리가 7일 동안 쉬는 것을 원하지 않으십니다. 휴대폰을 끄고, 친구들과 시간을 보내고, 가족과 시간을 보내고, 일주일에 하루는 쉬는 것이 중요합니다. 정신 건강에도 좋고, 관계에도 좋습니다. 그리고 네, 직장 생활에도 좋습니다.
많은 사람들이 번아웃을 느끼고 있을 거라고 생각합니다. 하지만 하나님은 우리에게 삶의 오래된 리듬을 주셨습니다. 그리고 이 자리에 계신 분들 중 예수님을 주님이시며 왕으로 부르는 분들께, 제가 드리는 도전은 믿음으로 행동하여 일주일에 하루는 쉬는 것입니다.
보시다시피요. 최근에 묵상하고 있는 성경 구절이 있으신가요?
음, 먼저 이 자리에 계신 모든 분들께 자신의 행동과 의지를 성경에 맡기시기 바랍니다.
성경에 조금이라도 근접한 본문은 과거에도 없었고 앞으로도 없을 것입니다.
성경은 역사상 가장 많이 인용되고, 인용되며, 영향력 있는 글입니다. 성경은 세상을 훨씬 더 나은 곳으로 만들었습니다. 성경은 인생에서 가장 중요한 세 가지 질문에 답합니다. 나는 어떻게 여기에 왔을까? 나는 왜 여기에 있을까? 그리고 나는 어디로 가고 있을까? 성경은 이 세 가지 질문에 대해 신비롭지 않습니다. 제가 우주의 사용 설명서를 찾았다고 한다면, 당신은 그것을 읽겠습니까?
성경에는 당신이 직면한 모든 문제에 대한 답이 있습니다. 그래서 제가 지금 묵상하고 있는 성경 구절은, 제가 지금 질문에 답하겠습니다. 사실 성경의 첫 번째 구절입니다. 모든 것을 바꿔놓습니다. 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하셨습니다.
이것이 왜 그렇게 중요한지 말씀드리겠습니다. 왜냐하면 그 순간에는 하나님이 창조에 참여하지 않으셨기 때문입니다. 창조는 하나님의 행위로 인해 이루어졌습니다. 다른 거의 모든 종교는 신이 자연 속에 존재한다고 하거나, 신이 자연 자체라고 주장합니다.
성경은 하나님께서 이 모든 것을 말씀으로 존재하게 하셨다는 사실을 비밀로 하지 않습니다.
그래서 하나님이 계시고 우리가 하나님이 아니라는 사실을 알게 되어 매우 겸손해집니다. 모든 것이 하나님에 의해 창조되었다는 사실을 아는 것은 제 삶에 매우 중요한 영향을 미쳤고, 우리가 아는 문명을 건설하는 데에도 기여했습니다. 우리가 더 많은 과학적 탐구와 발견을 할수록, 우주에는 시작점이 있었다는 것이 증명됩니다. 무신론자나 비기독교인들은 당신이 다윈의 진화론의 오류에 불과하다고 말할 것입니다. 창세기 1장 1절은 당신이 실수가 아니라 기적이라고 말합니다.
어떤 사람들은 “성경의 모든 기적 때문에 믿을 수 없어”라고 말할 것입니다. 하지만 세상 창조가 가능하다면 다른 모든 기적도 가능합니다. 그래서 저는 그 구절을 깊이 생각하고 묵상해 왔습니다.
[음악] 제 조국인 미국은 기독교인들이 정착했고, 무엇보다도 기독교 원칙에 따라 세워졌습니다. 한국도 거의 비슷합니다. 100년 전만 해도 한국의 기독교 인구는 2%도 되지 않았습니다.
그러나 1919년 3월 1일 한국 독립 선언서가 서명되었을 때, 서명자 33명 중 16명이 기독교인이었습니다. 현대 한국의 건국 아버지들은 미국의 건국 아버지들처럼 기독교인이었습니다.
기독교는 항상 인간 자유라는 세계적인 대의와 연결되어 왔습니다. 따라서 한국이 아시아에서 가장 기독교적인 나라 중 하나라는 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. 또한 가장 큰 적인 중국과 북쪽의 북한이 지구상에서 가장 반종교적인 정권이라는 것도 놀라운 일이 아닙니다.
그들이 이 아름다운 나라를 미워하고 파괴하려 한다는 것은 놀라운 일이 아닙니다. 저는 어제 DMZ에서 이를 생생하게 목격했습니다. 이 나라 국민들은 매일 경계해야 합니다. 자유와 신앙을 파괴하려는 악당들로부터 자유와 신앙을 지켜내십시오.
그리고 여러분 중 많은 분께 제가 드리는 도전은 평양이 아닌 영혼으로 태어날 수 있었던 것에 감사하며 깨어나는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분에게는 자유와 해방, 교회에 갈 수 있는 권리, 그리고 엄청난 부가 있기 때문입니다. 그리고 이 모든 것은 싸워서 얻어야 합니다. 한국은 비교적 젊은 나라입니다. 경계하지 않으면 악의 세력이 이 나라에 들어올 수 있습니다. 하지만 제가 드리고 싶은 마지막 조언은 모든 일에서 예수님을 최우선으로 생각하라는 것입니다. 하지만 그 다음으로 중요한 것은 무엇일까요? 두 번째로 중요한 것은 첫 번째 일을 할 수 있도록 허락받는 것입니다.
여러분, 지금 이 나라에서 기독교 신앙에 대한 탄압이 일어나고 있다는 것은 여러분에게 새로운 소식이 아닙니다. 그리고 신자로서 우리는 성경적으로 신앙으로 박해받는 사람들을 위해 일어서라는 명령을 받았습니다. 만약 여러분이 두 번째, 즉 예수님을 전파하는 일에 전혀 집중하지 않는다면, 언젠가 우리 모두는 감옥에서 복음을 전하게 될 것입니다. 미래에 대한 어두운 이미지처럼 보일 수도 있지만, 제가 말하고자 하는 것은 위대한 나라들이 자신들을 위대하게 만든 것을 위해 싸우지 않을 때 어떤 일이 벌어지는지에 대한 것입니다. 이곳은 아시아에서 가장 기독교적인 나라입니다. 저는 여러분의 미래에 대해 매우 낙관적이며, 여러분이 미국인들의 모범을 따라, 자신이 믿는 것을 위해 싸우고 폭정에 맞서기를 바랍니다.
그리고 신께서 한국을 축복하시길 바랍니다. 네, 감사합니다.

How do you manage to balance your life between your extremely busy work life uh your life at church and your family at home?
One of the one of the ways I’m able to balance my life is that I take the Sabbath very seriously. The scriptures are very clear. God says for 6 days you shall work. On the seventh day you shall rest. I’m sure here in South Korea it’s go go go go go all the time. God does not want us to go go for 7 days straight. It’s important to turn off your phone, spend time with friends, spend time with family, and rest and literally stop for one day a week. It’ll be better for your mental health. It’ll be better for your relationship. And yes, it’ll even be better for your work.
I’m sure a lot of people might be feeling some burnout. But God gave us an ancient rhythm to existence. And for those who call Jesus your Lord and your King in this audience, my challenge is act on faith to rest for one day a week.
as you can see. Is there a Bible verse you have been reflecting on recently?
Um there first let me say that everyone in this audience should be submitting your actions and your will to scripture.
There never has been and never will be a text that comes even close to the Bible.
It is the most quoted, cited, and influential text ever written. The Bible has made the world a profoundly better place. The Bible answers the three most important questions in life. How did I get here? Why am I here? And where am I going? The Bible is not mysterious about those three questions. If I told you that I found the user manual for the universe, would you read it?
The Bible holds the answers to every problem you are facing. So the Bible verse that I’m reflecting on, I’ll answer the question now is actually the first the first verse of the Bible. It it changes everything. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Let me tell you why this is so important. Because at that moment, God is not in creation. Creation is because of an act of God. Almost every other religion has God in nature or is nature.
The Bible makes no mystery that God spoke all of this into existence.
Therefore, it’s very humbling because you can then know there is a God and we are not him. So knowing that everything was created by God has has made a very important impact on my life and also built civilization as we know it. The more scientific inquiry and discovery we do, it all proves that the universe had a starting point. The atheists or the non-Christians will tell you that you’re nothing more than a mistake of Darwinian evolution. Genesis 1:1 says you’re a miracle, not a mistake.
Some people will say, “I can’t believe the Bible because of all the miracles.” But if the creation of the world is possible, every other miracle is possible. So that verse I’ve really been pondering and reflecting on.
[Music] My own nation, America, was settled by Christians and built on Christian principles above all else. Korea is largely the same way. 100 years ago, less than 2% of Korea was Christian.
Yet, when the Korean Declaration of Independence was signed on March 1st, 1919, 16 of the 33 signers were Christian. The founding fathers of modern Korea were Christian, just like the founding fathers of America.
Christianity has always been linked to the global cause of human liberty. So, it should be no surprise that Korea is one of the most Christian places in Asia. And it’s also no surprise that the greatest enemies, China and to the north, North Korea, are the most anti-religious regimes on the planet.
It’s no surprise that they hate this beautiful country and they want to destroy it. I saw this vividly yesterday at the DMZ. The people of this country must remain vigilant every day. Protect your freedom and your faith from the evildoers who would destroy it.
And my challenge for a lot of you is wake up with gratitude that you were able to be born in soul and not pyongyang because you have freedom, liberty, the ability to go to church, incredible wealth, and it must be fought for. South Korea is a relatively young country. If you do not stay on your guard, the forces of evil could come into this nation. But my last piece of advice, put Jesus first in all that you do. But then we must ask, what is the second most important thing? The second most important thing is to make sure you’re allowed to do the first thing.
Everybody, it’s not news to you that there is a crackdown against the Christian faith in this country happening right now. And as believers, we are biblically commanded to stand up for those persecuted in the faith. And if you don’t focus at all on the second thing, which is making sure you could spread Jesus, then we will all be sharing the gospel from a prison cell one day. That might seem like a dark image in future, but what I am saying is what happens when great countries do not fight for what made them great. This is the most Christian country in Asia. I’m incredibly optimistic about your future, and I I would love for you to take a page from the Americans, fight for what you believe in, and stand up to tyranny.
